Jesus Calms the Storm
Matthew 8:27
The men were amazed and said, "What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the sea obey him!"
The elementary kids heard the story from Matthew chapter 8 of Jesus calming the storm. They learned that storms come suddenly, studied the stark contrast of Jesus peace and the disciple's fear, and celebrated the power of God over any storm that comes our way. Talk with your kids about specific storms they might be facing and how God's power is over that storm.

Giving

Sup Wit Sunday?
Big Idea: God's Deal is a Great Deal!
Romans 10:15
And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"
The elementary kids heard the importance of giving as a part of church and what we do on Sundays. Giving is a part of being a good steward, offering worship to God, and obeying God's commands.

God is Amazing!
Luke 11:9
Ask and God will hear you
This week's Bible story was from Genesis 18:1-19:29. The preschool children heard the story of Abraham and Sarah entertaining strangers. These strangers confirmed the promise that God would give them a son. God is truly amazing, and He keeps His promises!
At home with your kids: Make a family tree while discussing God's faithfulness in your family. Encourage your children to thank God and worship Him for the many amazing things that He does.

Preaching and Teaching
2 + 2 = 4, but God's word will teach you more
God Knows Everything!
In Kiddie Clubs last night, the preschool children heard the story of Abram's covenant with God. We talked about God knowing how many stars are in the sky. The kids have been learning about trust in God. What a lesson to learn at such a young age! These kids are really coming to know who God is and what He can do in their lives. They are memorizing God's word. It is so fun to see them growing together in their knowledge of God.
Talk with your kids during the week about God's special plans for them. Use every opportunity to celebrate the knowledge and power of God.
Kiddie Clubs take place on Tuesdays (McCleary) and Wednesdays (Olympia) for ages 3 to Kindergarten. It is exciting to see what God is doing! Our vision is to have quality and interactive clubs for the preschool children. If you are interested in being a part of this amazing opportunity, contact Pastor Alicia. 360.352.3410 or afear@evergreenchristian.org

Celebrating Fallapalooza

Last Friday night, October 31st, hundreds of kids and parents enjoyed Fallapalooza on the Olympia campus. We had music playing outside from God's Truck along with four different creative and interactive trunks. Starbucks provided coffee and hot apple cider for drinks, which everyone appreciated. There was popcorn and cotton candy for snacks, two different inflatables to play on, and seven carnival games. Thank you to FOS Small Group leaders and Pastor Dan and Pama Olson for running the games. There were so many smiles as kids were going through and getting candy. Thank you to everyone that gave in the special offering for candy last Wednesday night. It made a huge difference in the amount of candy we were able to give out! Thank you to the junior high leadership class at ECS for making the signs. We seriously cannot thank our volunteers enough. You guys are all amazing! We had people running the inflatables, drink and food stations, parking, and even volunteers that helped with security and crowd control. There was also face painting, a clown, and free pictures printed out on the spot. Thank you to Chris and Deborah Mobley for traveling all the way to Olympia to help with the pictures. Overall Fallapalooza was an amazing success in showing love to our city.
We give all of the glory to God for both of these events and the connections that were made during them. It is exciting to see what God accomplishes in the lives of families when so many people give of their time and energy with events like Fallapalooza.
