This year NRG Kids had two different Fallapalooza events, and they were both amazing. On October 24th, the Friday before Halloween, NRG partnered with the Annual Bear Festival Committee in McCleary. The merchants of the city opened their doors for kids and handed out candy from 4 until 6 pm. Then the kids and families came to ECC and enjoyed hot dogs, nachos, balloons, carnival games, face painting, and free pictures until 8:00. The amount of families that attended this event was amazing for a small community. Thank you to the Bear Festival Committee for partnering in this safe and fun time for families! And thank you to all of the volunteers that gave time, energy, and resources to make this possible! So many kids and so many smiles...it is all about building relationships and connection in the community. More and more people are finding out what ECC is all about. We are definitely seeing an increase with the amount of kids coming on Sundays and Tuesday nights. Thank you for your faithfulness in reaching out to the families in this area.
Last Friday night, October 31st, hundreds of kids and parents enjoyed Fallapalooza on the Olympia campus. We had music playing outside from God's Truck along with four different creative and interactive trunks. Starbucks provided coffee and hot apple cider for drinks, which everyone appreciated. There was popcorn and cotton candy for snacks, two different inflatables to play on, and seven carnival games. Thank you to FOS Small Group leaders and Pastor Dan and Pama Olson for running the games. There were so many smiles as kids were going through and getting candy. Thank you to everyone that gave in the special offering for candy last Wednesday night. It made a huge difference in the amount of candy we were able to give out! Thank you to the junior high leadership class at ECS for making the signs. We seriously cannot thank our volunteers enough. You guys are all amazing! We had people running the inflatables, drink and food stations, parking, and even volunteers that helped with security and crowd control. There was also face painting, a clown, and free pictures printed out on the spot. Thank you to Chris and Deborah Mobley for traveling all the way to Olympia to help with the pictures. Overall Fallapalooza was an amazing success in showing love to our city.
We give all of the glory to God for both of these events and the connections that were made during them. It is exciting to see what God accomplishes in the lives of families when so many people give of their time and energy with events like Fallapalooza.
